When you are going to be hit by an attack, but before it is declared a hit or miss, you use your Reaction to try and evade the attack. You stretch out your hand and call out the name of this spell. An Arcane shield forms between you and the attacker, giving you a +5 to your Dodge.
In addition, any spell that automatically hits cannot pass the Arcane shield.
